In 2004, FirstInfo began by aggregating unrefined U.S. bound bill of lading data. Through advanced data manipulation, modification, and enhancement, the Company produced proprietary importer and buyer trade intelligence that proved of significant value to a number of key constituencies -- overseas manufacturers seeking U.S. customers, global organizations wishing to track competitors and boost sales, and eventually firms and policy-making bodies interested in broader competitive intelligence topics, trade-based legal and governmental issues, and economic policy-making.
